This series was inspired by the peaceful teachings of the late Monk, Zen Master and Activist, Thich Nhat Hanh, who passed away in January.

He taught that happiness is here, in each moment, that we arrive and choose it.

He invited us to notice our breath and the simple beauty that surrounds us.

These dried Iris pods remind me of his quiet, childlike nature. I collect them as soon as the flowers have dropped to capture their innate choreography.

Translucent, origami folded like spirits whispering for us to remember “Peace in every step”.

May they bring peace and beauty into each moment.
